The teaching of the PhD in Social Sciences (DOSS) is structured in two phases: a transversal teaching phase (common to all 4 curricula) and a curricular phase (provided by each curriculum according to its specificities).
The transversal teaching is divided over the first two years: in the first year, lessons will be held to provide an initial introduction to social sciences, followed by lessons focused on how and where to publish (specifically, a course in English for writing scientific articles, on research ethics, on publish or perish, and the credibility of scientific research). In the second year, the preparation related to data analysis will be strengthened (with courses on statistics and software for qualitative and quantitative data analysis). The transversal teaching typically begins in early November, is made available starting from mid-October, and is published on the dedicated Aulaweb space: https://dottorati.aulaweb.unige.it/course/view.php?id=532.
Curricular teaching activities usually begin in February.
